Research Programs

The FAA's diverse scientific, engineering and technical work force supports all aspects of aviation from basic research on materials to development of new products and procedures. Activities supported by the R&D program include:

  • Licensing, Regulation, Certification, and Standards Development: Aircraft, Air Operators, Aviation Agencies, Manufacturers, Aircrew and other aviation personnel, Airports, Commercial Space Transportation, Environment
